Our Mission

Envelope Finance helps its customers pay off their credit card debt for good and achieve financial freedom by enabling them to make superior financial decisions.

About Us

At Envelope Finance, we believe nobody should be burdened with expensive and stressful credit card debt. Our goal is to help our customers take back control of their finances. We achieve this through the use of scientific breakthroughs in psychology from experts at top universities such as Duke University, the University of Chicago, and Princeton University. We have seen firsthand how credit card debt negatively affects people all around us. An astonishing 72 million families in the United States are behind on their credit card payments. It impacts our family members, our friends, and our work colleagues. The high interest rates on credit cards trap many families and destabilizes them in numerous ways: more sick days at work, an increased rate of substance abuse, and an increased likelihood of divorce. We work with our customers to relieve them of this burden.

Our Team

Michael Cann Jr.

Founder & CEO

In conversations with friends and colleagues Michael repeatedly heard that their parents, their siblings, their nephews and nieces, or they themselves needed help to get a handle on their credit card debt. He was inspired by the work of famed Professor Dan Ariely, whom he met when they were both at MIT, and realized that insights from Professor Ariely’s discipline are the key to solving this problem.

Michael possesses deep expertise in consumer finance. He was the 15th employee at SoFi, a leading consumer finance company that provides lending and wealth management services, primarily targeting young professionals. He previously worked at Booz Allen Hamilton and PwC. Michael has an MBA from MIT and an AB in mathematics from Duke University.
